We’re transforming our existing Taproom and Patio space into Sippin’ Santa @ Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing, a tropical, festive oasis bursting at the seams with leisure-inspired cocktails and nostalgic decor, starting Monday 11/20 and running until the end of the year!
CONCEPT
“Sippin’ Santa” is not your typical Christmas-themed pop-up. It originated as a standalone concept in NYC in 2014 and has since become a globalphenomenon with nearly 200 locations worldwide. Founded by Greg Boehm, this whimsical holiday oasis brings the tropics to the holidays through the tropical offshoot presented by Jeff “Beachbum” Berry.
Owners Sara Abernethy and Chris Borreson originally met in San Diego, and being a Raleigh native, Sara is so pumped to bring a taste of that sunny, So-Cal ease into the holiday season! Our intentions with Sippin’ Santa is rooted in celebration of togetherness, relaxation, and the importance of leisure time often overlooked by the bustle of the holidays.
An overload of Christmas decorations, festive holiday events, and more to come, all while offering our regular food menu with some special seasonal offerings, this will be the only holiday destination of its kind in the Downtown Raleigh area. Locals and visitors alike will enjoy a taste of the San Diego surf culture right here in the heart of Raleigh – a perfect combination of married duo and owners Sara Abernethy and Chris Borreson’s home turfs.
COCKTAILS
Our menu is a testament to creativity and flavor. We use traditional, homemade holiday ingredients such as gingerbread, mulled wine, nutmeg, and chai,
infused with surprise and delight in every sip. Each cocktail is served in fun and unique glassware designed exclusively for Sippin’ Santa, also available for retail to help get your holiday shopping out of the way!
HIGHLIGHTS
What makes us special is our commitment to creating an unforgettable experience for our guests, now applied to the holiday season. This is the first year we are engaging with the community through a month-long holiday event, so we’re going all-out on our end and we promise an experience like none other for Downtown Raleigh.
For the community, we are hosting a toy drive for the kiddos, and also offering even more holiday joy with an ugly Christmas sweater party, craft nights all the while offering the best patio view in Raleigh for holiday celebrations with loved ones.
